Teri Bandy

Teresa “Teri” Dianne Bandy, 71, of Monett, MO, was called home unexpectedly on Saturday morning, July 15, 2023 at her home.

Teri was born on November 14, 1951 in Bartlesville, OK, daughter of Isaiah and Lois (Blair) Bandy. During her senior year of high school, her family moved from Sperry, OK to Aurora, MO where Teri graduated high school. At 19, she married John Waltrip in Monett, MO. To this union, she had four children.








During her working years, Teri had worked for Jumping Jack Shoe Co. for thirteen years until they closed. She then began at George’s and finally spent the last nine years of her career at Tyson’s. Most recently, Teri was in the janitorial department but she really liked it when she was able to saw the chickens. Teri had a passion for writing to her pen pals. She started this at age 20 and has continued these relationships her whole life. She had pen pals of all ages all over the world, including the U.S., Italy, Africa, Scotland, France, Canada and England.

Teri was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.








Teri is survived by her husband John, of the home; two sons, Kevin Waltrip (Brenda Watkins), of Monett and John Waltrip (Katiesha), of Battlefield, MO; two daughters, Misty Romero, of Monett and Crystal Waltrip (John Study), of Pineville, MO; two brothers, Curt Bandy and Richard Bandy; four sisters, Rhonda Rickman, Connie Bandy, Mary Waltrip and Ruth Bandy; nine grandchildren, Levi, Jasmine, Rachel, Johnny, Hunter, Colton, Kenny, Isaiah and Justice; twelve great-grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Teri was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Bandy; and one sister, Debra Bandy.

Memorial visitation for Teri will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
