Gay Spillers

Ms. Sammie Gay Spillers, 79, of Southwest City, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas.

Gay entered this life on December 30, 1943, in Southwest City, Missouri, daughter of the late Glen and Ilee May (Drake) Spillers. She was raised and attended school in Southwest City. She married and raised her family in southwest Missouri, then moved to Kansas City where she worked in retail management for many years. 








In 2013, she made the decision to move back home to Southwest City to be near her brother and sisters. She enjoyed reading, her faith, more reading, her family, and more reading, her friends, and even more reading, and also her cats. But her greatest passion was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gay was a member of the Southwest City Full Gospel Church.

She is survived by her three children, Grant Wuellner and wife, Lori, of Kansas City, Kansas, Roger Wuellner and wife, Beth, of Osawatomie, Kansas and Traci Armanees and John Conrad, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, ten grandchildren (Alec, Nicci, Sam, Levi, Blake, Melissa, Amber, Harold, Sydney, David) and seven great-grandchildren (Hunter, Eleanor, Easton, Brooke, Autumn, Emery, Amelia), a brother, Darrell Spillers and wife, Jean, of Southwest City, two sisters, Darlene Vinyard of Southwest City and Jan Drachenberg of Bella Vista, Arkansas, as well as a host of other family and friends.








Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Southwest City Full Gospel Church with Pastor Richard Hart officiating. A Private burial will take place at Southwest City Cemetery. A luncheon will take place at the church following the funeral to celebrate Gay’s life.
