Addie Wald

Addie Irene Wald, 82, passed away on March 14, 2024, in Carterville, MO. She was born on July 19, 1941, in Aurora, MO, to the late Henry Jimerson and Imogene Duncan. Addie's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family.

She attended Galena High School, where she laid the foundation for her future endeavors. Her journey led her to the love of her life, Lawrence Wald, with whom she built a beautiful family, including their children, Sherry Wigent (Henry), Larry, Bub (Jaki), and Michael Wald. Addie's family grew to include her adored grandchildren, Jimmy, Michelle, Valeria, Lacey, Justin, Chip, Larry, Micah, Laura, Landon, Laramy, and Bryton, as well as 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Addie is also survived by 4 siblings, Everette, Lula, Linda, and Sherry. 








Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Wald, and 3 siblings.

A savvy businesswoman, Addie owned and operated a beauty shop for 25 years. Alongside her husband, she owned Wald Sewer and Septic Service, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to serving her community.

Addie's home was a haven of love and hospitality, known for the delicious meals she prepared with care. She believed that no one should ever leave her home hungry, and she stood by this belief by always having a meal ready for anyone who walked through her door. Her priority was her family, and she dedicated her life to ensuring their happiness and well-being. Addie's presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and comfort, and her guidance was sought after by many.

Addie's legacy is carried on by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor her memory by embodying the values she instilled in them. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we know that her memory will be cherished forever, as her life was a beacon of love, strength, and generosity.








The family would like to extend their sincere thankfulness to special friends Nancy Sheets, Jeannie Leake (Neice), Aaron Crane (grandson-in-law) and caregiver Laura Pittman.

A funeral service is planned for Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.

The family invites friends for a time of visitation on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Thornhill-Dillon. Arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin,
