(From Parker Mortuary)Larry D. Gehlken, age 80 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 following an extended illness. Larry was born June 27, 1943 in Park Hills, Missouri to the late Joseph and Dorris (Hodge) Gehlken.
Larry graduated Park Hill High School with the class of 1961. He worked for nearly 50 years as a truck driver for different companies before eventually becoming an independent driver.
Larry is survived by a son, Robert Gehlken of West Des Moines, IA; daughter, Annette Barker and husband, Darrin of Warsaw, MO; sister, Debra Bradley; 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Other than his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Paula (Kingley) Gehlken in July of 2017.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
