Bill Hoye

William Franklin "Bill" Hoye, 89, passed away on June 26, 2024, in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on August 4, 1934, in Mosby, Missouri.

Bill served a distinguished hitch in the United States Navy, after which he embarked on a long and rewarding career. He retired from Kansas City Power and Light after 42 years of dedicated service. Postretirement, he moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, a place he had vacationed at since 1967. Bill was a member of the Bella Vista United Methodist Church, where he participated in various community activities.






 

A man of many interests, Bill was an avid fisherman, a skilled fly tyer, and enjoyed walks and golfing. His love for pets was evident to all who knew him, often seen petting dogs and making friends at local parks. Bill’s passion for life extended to scouting out bargains at estate sales, always eager to share his finds with friends and family.

Bill was a dedicated family man, known for his warm personality and generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Lloyd Hoye; brother, Walter Hoye; and his beloved wife, Violet Dorine (Hoehns) Hoye, whom he married on April 14, 1962.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Angie Rader of Bella Vista, AR; son, John E. Hoye (Nancy) of Raymore, MO; and grandchildren, Tim Rader of Bentonville, AR, Joshua Rader of Anderson, MO, Cathy Petram (Tyler) of Pea Ridge, AR, Molly Hoye of Lee's Summit, MO, Wm Clifford Hoye of Independence, MO, and Maxwell Hoye of Raymore, MO.





 

A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at Bella Vista Funeral Home, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715 on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The funeral home is in Bella Vista, AR, where Bill spent many happy years. His legacy of kindness, and friendship will be remembered by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter in remembrance of Bill's life and his love for animals.
