Rick Stauffer

Richard “Rick” Haury Stauffer, age 78 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following short illness on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Rick was born December 20, 1945 in Kirksville, Missouri to the late David and Kathleen (Ketchum) Stauffer.

Rick grew up in the Joplin area most of his life, graduating with the Joplin High School class of 1964. He later attended Missouri Southern State College where he received his Bachelors Degree. Rick worked as a Crane Operator for 50 years, most of those years with Ozark Crane.








Every morning you could find Rick and his buddies at the “Waffle House Coffee Club”. He was a long-time member of the Operators Union, Joplin Elks Lodge #501 and with the Joplin Jaycee’s. He faithfully served with his church family, First Baptist Church of Joplin. Most recently he enjoyed his time volunteering with Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Rick is survived by his wife, Pamela Hosp, married on June 27, 1987 in Joplin. Additionally, his son, David Stauffer (Alex) of Joplin; daughter, Elizabeth Isenberger (Tucker) of Sarcoxie; grandchildren, Natalie, Taylor, Archer and Lux; brothers, Steve Stauffer (Becky), Galen Stauffer (Nancy), both of Joplin; sister, Cynthia Stauffer (Steve) of Durham, North Carolina; many nieces, nephews and extended friends and family.








Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Joplin with Pastor Jamie Tickell, officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Mortuary Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary.

Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
