(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)Edna Susan Roethemeier, age 73, of Stotts City, Missouri, passed away at 11:32 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born February 19, 1951, in Okemah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leo and Edna Lorene (Slagle) McGlasson.
Susan was a 1969 graduate of Del City High School in Del City, Oklahoma. She was a loan secretary for Mid Missouri Bank in Mt. Vernon, Missouri and enjoyed sewing, doing crafts, and working in her flower garden. She also had a love for DIY projects and shopping for the perfect antique pieces for her home.
On June 7, 1969, she married Samuel Edward Roethemeier, in Del City, Oklahoma.
Susan is survived by her husband of 55 years, Samuel; one son, Brian Roethemeier of Neosho, Missouri; two daughters, Sonya Johnson and her husband, Robert, of Miller, Missouri and Amy Bettenga of Joplin, Missouri; four grandsons, Benjamin Johnson of Neosho, Missouri, Brock Johnson of Stotts City, Missouri, Marcus Wilbanks of Joplin, Missouri and Boby Johnson and his wife, Dalyn, of Miller, Missouri; two great-grandsons, Kash and Kooper Johnson; one great-granddaughter, Amelia Johnson; one brother, Paul McGlasson of Moore, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Judy McGlasson of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Sharon Miller and her husband, Morris, of Springfield, Missouri.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Leo, and Edna; one sister, Margaret Dean and her husband, William; one brother, Leo “Judgie” McGlasson and one sister-in-law, Shirley Neu and her husband, Jim.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
