(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Marquon Josiah Fantroy-Pullum was born on May 4, 2000, in Kansas City, Kansas to Eboney Fantroy and the late Robert Payne, Jr. Marquon was later placed with his cousin and her husband Maniya (Mae) and Henry Pullum, Jr., in 2012. A year later he was adopted by them. This made him the eighth child in the Pullum clan.
Marquon attended North Middle School. It was at this level where he showed an interest in cutting and styling hair. Marquon graduated from Joplin High School in May 2018.
While attending he was active on the football field in his 9th grade year. He later joined The Cornerstone Spartans Football Team an 8-man football team. Marquon had great physical strength which he showed on the wrestling mat and in the weight room.
During his childhood and teenage years, he was actively involved in his church Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Where served as an usher and participated in the choir along with the Junior Laymen.
Marquon had great teachers on work ethics. He did not sit around; instead, he worked in lawn care, at Taco Bell and as a moving specialist.
Marquon loved laughing and joking with his friends and customers, it did not matter where he was, he did not meet a stranger. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. Marquon treated everyone with respect.
Marquon did not meet a stranger no matter where he went. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He never saw bad in family, friends, anyone. He treated everyone with love and compassion. He put everyone's needs ahead of his own. A gentle giant, a teddy bear, the very best hugs. A Marquon hug would squeeze away all the troubles and bring smiles and laughter.
He took an interest in rap music, his outlet for releasing the hurt, love, and questions in life. He began to write and sing, putting his emotions on paper. Marquon battled depression, trying to fit in, not wanting to make anyone mad or feel hurt. He talked about his siblings from Joplin, Mo to Kansas City, Ks. Marquon was the secret keeper. He loved his cousins and always tried talking to them about making good decisions. His nieces and nephews loved them to his heart. Would give them his last, he loved, loved, loved them. Most of all he loved the Lord; he was a child of the most God. He is safe in the arms of Jesus.
Preceding him in death are his father Robert Payne, Jr., grandfather, William Fantroy, Sr., his grandmother Diana Fantroy, his grandfather Rev. Henry Pullum, Sr., his grandmother Hilda Riley, his grandfather Robert Payne Sr., his aunts Robin Fantroy and Rosalind Rodgers.
