Rodney Channel

Rodney Francis Channel, age 64, passed from this life on June 30th, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Rodney was born on November 7th, 1960 in Centralia, Kansas to Frank and Anna Channel (Hubbard).

After high school, Rodney married Dana Durborow, and together, they had three children, Jessica, Jamie and Justin. Dana and Rodney would later divorce.

Rodney moved to the Miami, Oklahoma area in the early 1990s, from Mississippi, where he would live until his passing. Rodney was a business owner and operated Fencing Solutions in the Miami area for over 15 years.

Rodney was a Christian and attended First Christian Church in Miami, Oklahoma.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Jamie Channel, and one brother Vyril Channel.

Rodney is survived by his daughter Jessica Hillger and husband Brandon of Joplin, Missouri, one son Justin Channel and wife Jennifer of Claremore, Oklahoma, sister in -law Mary Channel, and two sisters Mary Anne Hughes of Topeka, Kansas and Virginia Schmelzle and husband Jim of Topeka, Kansas, and two brothers Martin Channel and wife Brenda of Emmett, Kansas and Arthur Channel.

Rodney is also survived by his grandchildren, Jenna Channel, Jocelyn Channel, Boston Hillger, Blakely Hillger, and Kyser Grieshaber.

A visitation for friends and family will take place on Friday, June 11th, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Paul Thomas Chapel in Miami, Oklahoma. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Oklahoma, and online condolences may be made at paulthomasfuneralhomes.com.
