Mark Nelson

Mark Berwyn Nelson, 63, of Golden City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a long and courageous battle with spinal cancer.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Davison; stepfather, Phil Davison; brother, Christian Nelson; and son, Nicholas Rives. He is survived by his father, Jack Nelson; sisters, Michelle McCarthy and Nicole Davison; brothers, Dale (Gloria) Nelson and Paul Davison; daughter, Natasha (Danny Looney) Nelson; son, Homing Ng; grandsons, Alexzander Crockett and Jaden Wiley; nieces, Jennifer Nelson and Danielle Nelson; nephews, Matthew McCarthy, Brandon McCarthy, Elliott Nelson, and Joey Richardson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

A gifted craftsman and dedicated worker, Mark served as plant manager at Cross Manufacturing in Mindenmines, Missouri. There, he designed and created tractor rims and various other equipment parts—pieces that continue to serve farmers today. His creative spirit also found expression in his photography business, where he captured treasured memories for his clients, from senior portraits and prom nights to family gatherings and special milestones.

In his spare time, Mark found joy in his garage, tinkering with motors while the radio played his favorite tunes. He loved the outdoors—especially in the warmer months—and cherished time spent fishing with his closest friends. His happiest place, however, was on his porch with his beloved German Shepherd, Roxy, by his side.

Mark will be remembered for his gentle manner, steadfast kindness, and unwavering willingness to help others. Even through life’s hardships, he lifted spirits with his quick wit and humor. His strength, resilience, and compassion have left a lasting legacy of love and generosity. and we pray that his life continues to touch others.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date, with details to be announced.
