(From Daniel Funeral Home)Jana Danelle (Cole) Kidd, age 62, of Joplin, Missouri, entered the Kingdom of her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2026, following a lengthy illness. She leaves behind the pride and joy of her life, her two beautiful daughters, Jaclyn Kidd and Natalie Kidd, both of Neosho, Missouri.
Jana was born on May 24, 1964, in Lamar, Missouri, to Harry Keefer Cole and Helen Mae (Fanning) Cole. She graduated from Lamar High School before pursuing a career in nursing. Jana earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from Missouri Southern State University in 1987 and later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She also pursued graduate studies in Nursing Education at the University of Central Missouri.
Throughout her distinguished nursing career, Jana faithfully served others through her work at Freeman Hospital, Freeman OccuMed, and Crowder College. She held numerous positions, including Emergency Room Trauma Nurse, Trauma Coordinator, Intensive Care Unit Nurse, and Allied Health Coordinator and Instructor. Whether caring for patients or educating future healthcare professionals, Jana's compassion, knowledge, and dedication left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Most recently, Jana attended College Heights Christian Church. Her heart for service extended well beyond her professional career. She generously volunteered with Jasper County CASA, where she advocated for children in need, as well as with Thru the Roof Disabilities Ministry, the Card Ministry, and Operation Fairy Godmother. Even as her health declined, Jana continued serving others by working as a substitute school nurse for the Joplin School District, helping others for as long as her body would allow.
At home, Jana found comfort and companionship in her beloved cats, Hansel and Gretel.
Survivors include her daughters, Jaclyn Kidd and Natalie Kidd; her father, Harry Keefer Cole; her sister, Jill Adams and husband Lance of Carl Junction, Missouri; her brother, Clay Cole and wife Ashley of Lake Ozark, Missouri; and several beloved nieces and nephews: Landon Adams and wife Katie and their children, Annie, Maggie, and James; Jansen Adams and wife Courtney and their children, Oakley, Silas, and Cooper; Kellen Adams and wife Claire; Andi Prater and husband Ian; and Camryn Arndt and husband Christian.
Jana was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Mae (Fanning) Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Daniel Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either Jasper County CASA or the Vasculitis Foundation, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.

Jana was the quality nurse you wanted to see at your bedside. She was the empathetic nurse who listened and encouraged. She was an exceptional clinician and educator. She will be missed.
