(From Daniel Funeral Home)Kenneth James Chappell, age 71, of Golden City, Missouri, passed away on July 31, 2026, at Good Shepherd Community Care in Lockwood, Missouri.
Kenneth was born on April 21, 1955, in Lamar, Missouri, to Carl David Chappell and Mary Francis (Salow) Chappell. He graduated from Golden City High School with the Class of 1973. On January 16, 1981, he married Barbara Jean Tillery in Miami, Oklahoma, and together they shared more than 45 years of marriage.
Kenneth worked in the warehouse at Golden Business Forms for many years before retiring in 2013. He was also dedicated to serving his community as a member of the Golden City Fire Department and proudly served as Fire Chief from 1988 until 2008. His years of service reflected his commitment to protecting and caring for the people of Golden City.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Chappell; three sons, Carl Chappell and wife Jessica of Wasilla, Alaska, Jason Chappell and wife Alisha of Willard, Missouri, and Derek Chappell and wife Kim of Edgar Springs, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Grayson, Tycen, Victorreia, Carter, Samantha, Calvin, and Kaylie; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Chappell; three sons, Carl Chappell and wife Jessica of Wasilla, Alaska, Jason Chappell and wife Alisha of Willard, Missouri, and Derek Chappell and wife Kim of Edgar Springs, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Grayson, Tycen, Victorreia, Carter, Samantha, Calvin, and Kaylie; and two great-grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Francis Chappell; two sisters; and two brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Dudenville Cemetery in Golden City, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Golden City Fire Department, in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
