Scott Jeffery Hollingshead, age 42, Flower Mound, Tx., formerly of Webb City, passed away on December 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was born on July 27, 1975 in Rolla, Mo., the son of Donald A. Hollingshead, Sr. and Mary Catherine (Huitt) Hollingshead. He graduated from Salem High School in 1993. He married Crystal Kimmel on March 23, 1996 and together they raised two daughters. Following high school Scott went to work as a police officer for the Carl Junction Police Department for ten years. He then graduated from Pittsburg State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Technology. In 2011 he and his family moved to Texas where he began working with Schlumberger. In 2015 they moved to Flower Mound, Tx. where he worked for FANUC an International electrical company.
Scott was a Christian Disciple of Christ and was a member of the First Christian Church of Lewisville, Tx. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, his family was everything to him. He was a very charitable person, he wanted to give money to everyone in need. He will be greatly missed.
Scott is survived by his wife Crystal Hollingshead, Flower Mound, Tx., two daughters, Rebeca and Julia Hollingshead, both of the home; his father, Donald A. Hollingshead, Sr., Reeds, Mo.; his mother, Mary Catherine Hollingshead, Webb City, Mo.; three brothers, Donald Hollingshead, Jr., Clinton, Mo., David Hollingshead, Webb City, Mo., and Daniel Hollingshead and wife Laura, Joplin; two sisters, Kim Vann and husband Joel, Webb City, Mo., and Carolyn Hollingshead, Carthage, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Jonna Kimmel, Webb City, Mo.; his father-in-law, Billy Kimmel, Granby, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church of Webb City. Christal Fisher, Minister will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Zacharey Hollingshead, Donald Hollingshead, III, Jacob Hollingshead, Gage Hollingshead, Tim McDonald, Matthew Kimmel, and Clarence Cordova. The honorary pallbearers will be Donald Hollingshead, Jr., David Hollingshead, and Daniel Hollingshead.
The visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Carl Junction and Webb City “Shop With A Cop” Program in care of the mortuary.
