Brian Terry

Sydney “Brian” Terry, age 57, of Minco, Oklahoma passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at his home.

He was born February 19, 1963 in Cassville, Missouri the son of Fred and Margaret (Norvell) Terry. Brian grew up in Purdy, Missouri and graduated from Purdy High School in 1981. 

While in high school he was Missouri State High School Rodeo Champion as a calf roper. He received a rodeo scholarship at Labette County Community College in Parsons, Kansas and then attended one year at Missouri Southern in Joplin, Missouri. 








 In 1985 he moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and worked as a carpenter for twenty years at Macklinburg-Duncan. Later he worked as a mechanic on large engines for oil and gas fields in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

As a young boy he was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church where he was baptized and later became active in Life Church in Mustang, Oklahoma. Some of his favorite pastimes were rodeoing and hunting, especially deer hunting in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and camping and fishing at Roaring River.

Surviving are his parents, Fred and Margaret Terry of Purdy, Missouri; two sons, Joshua Terry and his wife Amber of Harrah, Oklahoma and Cody Terry of Tuttle, Oklahoma; two brothers, Monte Terry and his wife Sue of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Greg Terry and his wife Heidi of Simi Valley, California; two grandchildren, Jakob and Madilynn Terry of Harrah, Oklahoma and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 4, 2021 at Arnhart Cemetery east of Purdy, Missouri under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Lawrence Shuey will conduct the services.
