Kay Pugh

(From Clark Funeral Home)

On May 29, 2021, Patricia Kay Pugh departed this life for her eternal home in Sarcoxie, Missouri. Kay was born on Dec. 31, 1941 in Chetopa, Kansas to John and Eileen (Gale-Everett) Adams.

On April 26, 1959 in Miami, Oklahoma, Kay married Cleo Pugh of Carl Junction, Missouri. To this union, six children were born. Her oldest child having been born mentally handicapped, led her to a career caring for the mentally ill.

Kay was a hard worker and did everything the right way. She often worked holidays and rarely gave up the opportunity to work overtime. She retired from Community Support Services at the age of 74. Kay never complained about the hard life dealt her. She and Cleo gladly cared for their oldest son his entire 60 years of life. The three were inseparable.

Together they enjoyed garage sales, farmer’s markets and long rides in the car. They loved going to every Wal-Mart within a 30 miles radius. Kay was a giver and always put others needs and desires before her own. She loved having a large family and enjoyed every moment spent with them.

Eight months ago, Kay became increasing ill. During this time, she never lost her grit or ornery personality. Her faith in God remained strong and up until the end, she stated that her Redeemer lives.

Kay will be forever remembered by her husband, Cleo; her children, Jeff Pugh, Tammie (Mike) Southard, Mark (Tosha) Pugh, Becky (Chris) White and Amanda (Carl) McFarland. Her siblings, Shirley McDonald, Barbara Flynn, Gary Adams and Joy Tash; sixteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Douglas Pugh. The family would like to thank the staff of Sarcoxie Nursing Home and The Good Shepherd Hospice.
