(From Parker Mortuary)Lloyd Wade McGuirk, Sr., 55, of Columbus, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Lloyd was born August 27, 1966 in Joplin, Missouri, to Jerry and Phyllis (Miller) McGuirk. In 1986, Lloyd married Brenda Gay Spigelmyer and together they had three children, Lloyd Jr., Jeremy, and Bryan.
Lloyd retired from the roofing industry and enjoyed spending his free time with his family. He loved fishing, collecting knives and swords, and he was a huge movie buff. Lloyd will be most remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to make the tough days a little easier for everyone. He will be greatly missed.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bryan McGuirk; and four brothers, Johnny, Charles, Robert, and Jerry McGuirk.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Brenda; two sons, Lloyd McGuirk, Jr. and Jeremy McGuirk; five granddaughters, Stormie, Rylee, Chevi, Nova, and Kenzlee; two siblings, Cindy McGuirk and Jimmy McGuirk; as well as a host of extended family and many friends.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
