Nancy Greathouse

Mrs. Nancy Carol Greathouse, 78, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1944 in Carthage, Missouri to the union of the late Harley F. and Iva A. (Carver) McDonald. 

On January 28, 1961 she was united in marriage to Curtis Roy Greathouse. Together they shared sixty-one years of beautiful memories. To this union three children were born. 

For many years she worked for Juvenile Shoe and Justin Boot. She was a very loyal and dedicated employee. She was a member of Reeds Baptist Church. She dearly loved watching and taking care of her grandchildren, cooking, gardening and sewing; as well as spending time with her family and friends. She will certainly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter Teresa DeMasters.

Nancy is survived by her husband Roy Greathouse; children, Tom Greathouse of Sarcoxie and Curtis Greathouse and wife, April also of Sarcoxie; grandchildren, Heath Greathouse (Hailey) of Webb City, Landon Greathouse of Carthage, Brittney DeMasters of Joplin, Destinee Salyer (Ed) of Sarcoxie and Jason Vineyard of Joplin; great-grandchildren, Maxx Salyer, Aiden Onstott, Talon Vineyard and baby girl, Iva Lousie Greathouse due to arrive in January; son-in-law, Mark DeMasters; siblings, James McDonald (Linda) of Bixby, Oklahoma, Jerry McDonald (Karen) of Carthage and Larry McDonald (Cathy) of Quapaw, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Greathouse are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie with Pastor Mike Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Heath Greathouse, Landon Greathouse, Ed Salyer, Garrett Hendry, Dylan Pyle and Jacob McDonald. Honorary pallbearers are Mark DeMasters and Gary Greathouse. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.
