Fayenell Farris

Fayenell Eileen Farris, 92, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, after a sudden illness.

Fayenell entered this life on October 2, 1930, in Duenweg, Missouri, daughter of the late Edgar and Cleo (Evans) Goade. She was raised in Duenweg and was a 1949, graduate of Duenweg High School. 









On January 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Jay Farris and to this union three children were born, Johnny, Patricia and Stephen. 

Fayenell was a devoted mother and wife throughout her life. She took her roll as a Pastors Wife with the upmost grace, believing that God called her to serve others and assist her husband in the gospel ministry. They retired from the ministry in 2018, after pastoring six churches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar, Cleo and Leatha Goade; her beloved husband of seventy years, Rev. Jay Farris on March 26, 2020; and three siblings, Eva Wolfe, Albert Wolfe and Everett Goade.








Fayenell is survived by her three children, Johnny Farris of Carl Junction, Patricia Ochoa and husband, Jesse, of Webb City and Stephen Farris and wife, Bobbi, of Bolivar; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Johnson of Duenweg; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023, in the chapel of Parker Mortuary with Pastor Stephen Moser officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. 

 Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Hines, Brian Wilson, Matt Wilson, Leonard Miller, Brian Helton, Jon Moser and Nathan Moser. The family will receive friends on Monday beginning at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
