Allisyn Brewster

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

Allisyn Brewster, 52 of Carl Junction, passed away on March 12, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield after battling multiple severe health issues. She was born on February 11, 1971 to David and Linda Austin in Independence, KS. She was a caring mother, loving wife, and friend to anyone she met.

Allisyn was a Pittsburg State University graduate, where she also obtained her Master's Degree in Biology. Before college, she met her husband, Charles, who both worked as tellers at a local bank in Independence.

After college, the two relocated to Carl Junction and made it their home. Allisyn and Charles were blessed with two healthy boys, Logan and Evan.

Allisyn stayed involved with the boys throughout school, helping with homework and attending band concerts. Allisyn and her son Logan both played in their respective high school bands. Allisyn played the flute, various percussion instruments, and piano.

She made sure to put family first, and they vacationed whenever they could. Their favorite destinations were Florida beaches, Universal Studios, Nashville, and Northwest Arkansas. More recently, they enjoyed a visit to the Field of Dreams in Iowa.

Allisyn was very dedicated to her work at local hospitals as a Senior Cardiac Clinical Specialist for Medtronic, Inc. She made many friends during her 20-year career, some of whom became very good friends. Between a very busy work schedule, and raising two kids with her husband, she did manage to occasionally grow various herbs and vegetables in her home garden.

Allisyn and family believe in adopting rescue dogs from the area humane societies. These pups are deeply loved and always considered to be members of the family.

Allisyn is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bud and Toddy Hosfelt, and paternal grandfather, Harry Austin. She is survived by her husband, Charles; her two sons Logan and Evan; parents David and Linda Austin of Cherryvale, KS; a brother Mathew and wife Brooke of Cherryvale, KS; her paternal grandmother Glenadean Austin also of Cherryvale, KS; and several nieces, nephews, and many more family members who loved her very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Carl Junction United Methodist Church. A visitation will be from 5:00pm until service time.

Funeral arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction. The family invites friends and relatives to share photos and memories of Allisyn at www.simpsonfh.com.
