Michael Anderson

Michael Preston Anderson, age 68 of Seneca, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. 

Michael was born November 30, 1954 in Joplin to the late Lee Preston Anderson and Virginia Mae Monson. He graduated with the Neosho High School class of 1973, afterwards enlisting into the U.S. Army. 

Michael owned and operated an asphalt company, prior to doing tree service for several years, eventually retiring from Briley-Crowder Tree Service. After retirement, Michael got to share in his passion to rebuild and race trucks with his two sons. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagle’s #2410 of Joplin.

Michael married Mary Ruth Bladl on July 9, 1982 in Joplin, she preceded him in death on September 26, 2013. Additionally, his three brothers preceded Michael in death.

Survivors include two sons, Michael P. Anderson, II of Joplin, Dalton Anderson of Seneca; two daughters, Michele Anderson and Maggie Anderson, both of Joplin; ten grandchildren that he adored; numerous nieces, nephews and so many friends that loved and cherished their moments together with Michael.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 25th at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Oak Grove School House, south of Joplin. All family and friends are encouraged to attend.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
