(From Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home)Dorothy Joan Tilden, 83, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab.
Joan was born on September 25, 1939 at her parents’ home in Southwest City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Raymond Lukens and Gladys Keene Lukens. Joan was the widow of the late Ron Tilden who preceded her in death in 1987.
Joan was a hard worker and worked various jobs in her life including housekeeping and cleaning offices, working for different chicken plants and cooking. She enjoyed going for rides, going out to eat, and having visitors.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Smith and wife Theresa Wright of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Larry Smith and wife Kim of Noel, Missouri, and Mike Smith and wife Debbie of Southwest City, Missouri; one daughter, Julie Dixon and husband Mark of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; three brothers, Benny Lukens and wife Linda of Southwest City, Oklahoma, Ronnie Lukens of Southwest City, Missouri, and Terry Lukens and wife Camille of Afton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Judy Miller and husband Charlie of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Kathy Stick and husband Adam of Southwest City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends.
