Larry Lee

November 13, 1940 - July 6, 2023

Larry P. Lee passed from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Thursday July 6, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimers.

Larry was the only child of Lloyd and Blanche Lee. He was raised in Commerce, OK where his family owned and operated a lumber yard and hardware store. He worked in the yard and store from age 12 until he graduated college. Upon graduation from PSU, he went to work in the drafting and engineering dept. of Dickey Clay. Later he worked for McCabe Minerals as Vice President of Operations overseeing plants in 3 states.






 

Larry married Judy Baker in August of 1962. They lived in Pittsburg, KS for 35 years where they raised their son, David (wife Michelle) and daughter, Terry (husband Darrin). In 1999 they moved to Carl Junction, MO. Larry dearly loved his grandchildren, Jake Lee (Minnesota), Morgan Lee (Wisconsin), Alex Kuehn (Kansas), and Haley Kuehn-Auten (husband Joel) Bali, Indonesia.

In Pittsburg, Larry was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church serving as a deacon, and head of the building committee after the church was burned in an arson fire March of 1981. In Joplin, as long as his health allowed, Larry was an active member of Forest Park Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Over the years Larry went on numerous mission trips to Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Mississippi, Wales UK and Kenya Africa. He was also active in many phases of Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch in Lampe, MO and Beautiful Feet Ministries in Ft. Worth, TX.






 

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. A celebration of his life will be held at the mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Monday with burial to follow at GAR Cemetery in Miami, OK.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent to LUC Boys Ranch, Lampe, MO or Watered Gardens, Joplin.

Funeral arrangements for Larry Lee are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, 1502 S. Joplin Avenue, Joplin.
