Chris Vance

Ora Christine (Triplett) Vance (Chris), 89 of Walnut Grove, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family. Chris was born June 23, 1934, in Lockwood, Mo. to Charlie Triplett and Juanita Clabough. Ora attended school in South Greenfield. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Tabernacle.

On June 3, 1956, Chris and Ted Vance were united in marriage and shared 65 years together. 








Shortly after marriage, Ted and Chris moved to California to work in the orchards picking oranges and plums. They started their family in California and after a few years they moved back to Missouri where they settled in Stockton. They were blessed with 7 children.

In her free time, she enjoyed camping, gardening, and fishing. Chris loved spending time in the kitchen and was an amazing cook. Most of all she loved getting to spend time with her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids.

Chris is survived by her loving dog, Penny; sisters, Ethel Harrelson of Orange Cove, CA, Virgina Raymond of Greenfield, MO. Her children Tony Vance of Stockton, Jerrylyn (Larry) Morgan of Ash Grove, Trudy (Alan) Chaput of Walnut Grove, Anita (Richard) Smith of Walnut Grove; 20 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren,18 great-great grandchildren; other family and many friends.








Chris is preceded in death by her parents Charlie Triplet and Juanita Clabough; husband, Ted Vance, brothers, Donnie Tripplet, Bobby Clabough and Jimmy Clabough, Son Claude Vance and wife Deanna Vance; Daughters, Kimmie Worthan and Judy Ward and Husband Mike Ward.

Chris’s services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ora’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital or the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery.
