Wanda Ward

Wanda Pauline (Hull) Ward, 79, of Reeds, Missouri passed away May 7, 2024, at St. Luke’s Center in Carthage, Missouri.

Wanda was born on October 31, 1944, to the union of the late Ellis and Nellie Mae (Garrison) Hull. On October 17, 1964, she was united in marriage to Cecil Gene Ward. Together they shared nearly sixty years of wonderful memories. 






Wanda and Cecil lived on Olive Street in Carthage for several years. They were foster parents to nearly one hundred children and adopted one son, Anthony Ward. When Cecil retired, they moved to Reeds, to be close to her family. Wanda was a devoted homemaker, sold furniture and antiques as well as operating a Doll Hospital. She was a member of Reeds Baptist Church. Wanda was a faithful believer of her Lord and Jesus Christ. She enjoyed being a foster parent to many children, as well as spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Floyd Hull, Lloyd Hull, Fred Hull and Charles Hull; brother-in-law and sister-in law, Larry and Cecile Woodmansee.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Cecil Gene Ward, of Carthage; son, Anthony Leland “Andy” Ward as wife, Angela Rose Ward, of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, J. Joseph Ward, Julia Ward, Jay Smith and Johnathan Kane, all of Overland Park, Kansas and brother Lee Hull of Avilla, Missouri; sister-in-law, Kathy Michael; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Elaine Barrett; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.








Memorial services for Mrs. Ward are 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at Reeds Baptist Church with Pastor Daryl Foster officiating. Urn-bearers will be J. Joseph Ward, J.J. Smith, Brad Hull, Johnathan Kane, Lee Hull and Lawrence Matthews. Inurnment will follow at Reeds Cemetery.
