(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Danny Wayne Hopkins of Carl Junction, MO passed from this life Monday, July 1, 2024 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was 74.
Danny was born July 29, 1949 in Miami, OK to Fred Aubrey and Betty Jean (Davis) Hopkins. He had lived in Carl Junction for the past 5 years moving from Quapaw, OK. He graduated from Picher-Cardin High School class of 1967 and then attended college at N.E. O. A&M in Miami, OK.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator during Vietnam. Danny had worked for Yellow Freight in Baxter Springs, KS and Bag Craft in Baxter Springs, KS. He also worked for Baxter Country Club and Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin, MO.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife Fay Hopkins, his parents and 1 brother, Terry Davis.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Jocelyn Jameson of Carl Junction, MO, 2 brothers, Steve Hopkins of Miami, OK and Randy Davis and wife Peggy of Commerce, OK, 2 sister-in-laws Mary Radford and husband Ron of Quapaw, OK and Donna Price of Pittsburg, KS, 2 brother-in-laws, Glen Bird and wife Norma of Quapaw, OK and Arnie Bird and wife Christine of Ocala, FL and 2 grandchildren, Chloe Jameson and Cambell Jameson both of Carl Junction, MO.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Pastor Leon Weece will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to service at the funeral home.
