(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Shawn Renee Buchanan, 55, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri. She was born on September 20, 1968, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Judy (Deckelman) Neefe, and the late James Phillips.
Shawn's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her work. Known for her strong work ethic, she was respected by colleagues and loved by friends. Shawn's big heart was felt by all who knew her, and her ability to bring joy to everyday moments was unparalleled.
Her interests were a reflection of her loving nature. Shawn had a passion for playing with her grandson Draydon, whose youthful energy matched her own. She found great pleasure in road trips. Her kind soul and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Shawn is survived by her mother, Judy Neefe; step-father, Michael Neefe; boyfriend, William Seal; children, Erica Bailey (David), Shaila Taylor (Robey Patton), and Hunter Phillips; grandchildren, Draydon Patton, Landen Williams, and Chanley Bailey; siblings, Jaymes Phillips, Ronette Cardiel, R.J. Virgil, and Josh Murphy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, MO.
