(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Dennis Ray Hendricks, age 67, of Hallowell, Kansas passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Dennis was born to the late Henry and Veleta Hendricks on December 5, 1956 in Columbus, Kansas. He married Sharon Lynn Harris-Cupp on August 3, 1985 in Miami, OK. She survives of the home. During his life, Dennis worked as a Travel Mechanic for Railroad Contractors for 20 years. He also was a diesel mechanic and drove a truck for many years, as well as working at Calibrated Forms for some time in Columbus. Dennis enjoyed doing all sorts of work and activities on the farm, and he loved animals.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents, are his brother Henry Dale Hendricks, sister LaRita Marie Hendricks, and his two mini dachshunds PeeWee and Curly.
He is survived by his wife Sharon, son Brent Cupp of Joplin, Missouri; son Terry Cupp; daughter Dana Clevenger (Jessie Lovell) of Joplin, MO; grandchildren: Jeremy Cupp (Kristie), Krista Cupp-Porter, Brandon Fancher (Samantha), and Dannielle Blauvelt (Catlin); 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister-in-law Carol Moss (Joe) of Seneca, MO, several cousins in the Wichita, KS area; a host of nieces and nephews; and 2 daughters from a previous marriage, where abouts unknown.
Dennis has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home for cremation. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at McKee Cemetery.
