(From Simpson Funeral Home)Patricia "Pat" Haynes, born Patricia June Hetherington on May 29, 1925, in Joplin, Missouri, passed away on April 26, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri. Pat was a woman of intelligence, resilience and talent. She never lost her sense of humor and seized every opportunity with a witty remark and a wise smile.
Patricia was raised on a farm in the Hornet, Missouri area, and attended Five Mile School. She was a farm girl at heart and forever a lover of animals. She married her “cup of tea”, J. D. Haynes, in Miami, Oklahoma. She said being married to him was like being at a constant party. She loved caring for her family, cooking, sewing, and working in the yard.
Patricia was predeceased by her spouse, J.D. Haynes; son, Jay Haynes (Debra); granddaughter, Pepper Haynes; and parents, Roscoe and Grace Hetherington. She is survived by her son, Douglas Haynes; grandson, Gabe Wilkins (Jennifer); granddaughter, Sabre Haynes; and great grandson, Beckham Wilkins.
A Graveside service will be held Friday May 1, 1:30pm at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO.
Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones. Services are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home. Let us celebrate Patricia, remembering her not just for the years in her life, but for the life in her years.
