Alberta Anders, 89, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on July 22, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and devotion to her family, friends, and community. She was born on October 4, 1936, in Anderson, Missouri, and throughout her long life she was known for her gentle spirit, loving heart, and warm presence. Alberta touched the lives of many through her work, her faith, and the steady grace with which she carried herself each day.

Alberta devoted much of her life to serving others in meaningful ways. She served as a San Jose, California Police Officer and retired after twenty years of dedicated service. Her career reflected her strength, integrity, and commitment to helping others, and she earned the respect of those who knew and worked with her. After her years in law enforcement, she continued to contribute to her community in a variety of roles. She worked as an Ozark Writer for the local newspaper, where she shared her voice and perspective with readers. She also served as the city of Pineville Treasurer, a position that required trust, responsibility, and attention to detail. In addition, she worked for the Big Nickel for 13 years, where her steady work ethic and dependable nature were appreciated by many.

Her involvement in the community extended beyond her work. Alberta was an active member of the Historical Society and the First Baptist Church in Pineville, Missouri. These organizations reflected her appreciation for history, fellowship, and faith, all of which were important parts of her life. Her presence in these groups was marked by sincerity, loyalty, and a genuine desire to be of service.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin E. and Orpha A. (Spears) Anders; and by her brothers, Melvin E. Anders, Harold D. Anders, and William G. “Bill” Anders. She carried the memory of her family with her throughout her life, and those bonds remained an important part of who she was. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Williams of Nixa, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of friends who will remember her with affection and gratitude. Her family and friends will cherish the many ways she showed her love, encouragement, and care over the years.

Those who knew Alberta will remember her as a kind, loving, and gentle woman whose quiet strength and compassionate nature left a lasting impression. She had a way of making others feel welcome and valued, and her life was a reflection of the goodness she carried within her. Whether through her work, her church, her community involvement, or her relationships with loved ones, Alberta lived with purpose and grace. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Funeral services for Alberta will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Hap Anders will officiate. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Logan Williams, David Williams, John Williams, Ken Anders, Billy Anders and Justin Anders; honorary pallbearers are Vincent Crossley and David Crossley. Burial will follow the service in the New Bethel Cemetery.
