Todd Twiddy

(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)

Anthony Todd Twiddy, devoted husband, beloved brother, favorite uncle and friend to all, passed away unexpectedly on 17 May 2021. He was born on 20 May 1970 in Aurora, Colorado.

Todd suffered a massive heart attack and left us after a brief battle. His husband, Whitney Fair, and sister, Tonya Jiron, had the highest honor to be with him as his soul left our world.

As anyone who knew him would tell you, Todd was an amazing person who never knew a stranger. He had the best sense of humor and made everyone feel welcome and loved, no matter where he was. Todd had the biggest and most loving heart and would truly give the shirt off of his back if it would give comfort and help to others.

He loved to laugh and wanted everyone around him to laugh with him. He would go out of his way and use his quick wit to give them something to laugh about just so they could laugh together. Todd was always up for adventure and good-hearted mischief. Never a dull moment was had when you were with him!

Todd’s life was enriched in many ways. He traveled the world and lived in many great cities. New York City was his favorite with New Orleans a close second. Todd was brave enough to try stand-up comedy and he was good at it. He also loved playing pool and was a pool champion in New York City.

Although he experienced many unique and wonderful things throughout his life, it was the simple things he loved the most. Todd was an amazing cook and loved to make Sunday brunch for Whitney as well as Thanksgiving dinner where everyone was welcome.

His latest culinary challenge was the art of making bread. Yes, he mastered it! Todd and Whitney enjoyed meeting friends weekly on Monday and Tuesday nights for food, drinks, and lots of laughter.
Todd made a great life for himself, but it was not without hardship. He struck out on his own at an early age and traveled the country, looking for his place in the world. He landed in New York City and thrived there.

Sadly, Todd lost many friends and colleagues when the Twin Towers collapsed on 9/11. He did not go to work that day, opting to stay out of town one more day to keep celebrating his friend’s birthday. He suffered tremendous survivors’ guilt and was lost and adrift for many years after.

But his life changed forever when he met the love of his life, Whitney. With Whitney, Todd found the true meaning of life. He finally knew true happiness. Todd and Whitney were married on 9 October 2011 and settled in the Atlanta area of Georgia. It was there Todd became a realtor with Keller Williams.

This was the perfect career for Todd as it allowed him to meet many friends and truly impact lives. Todd was one of the hardest working people you could ever meet. While he took pride in his real estate career, he was never too prideful to take on other types of work to ensure his little family was taken care of. He was an honest and honorable man, respected by all.

Todd was the youngest of three siblings and the only boy. Younger by 4 and 6 years respectively, he was spoiled by his sisters who suddenly found they had a beautiful towheaded baby doll with huge brown eyes to play with and “take care of”. It was all fun and games until Todd grew older and began to have an opinion of his own. As often happens with siblings, disagreements would arise and his sisters would complain to their mom, only to be told they were reaping what they sowed by spoiling him so much when he was a baby. This was little comfort to two frustrated sisters. Such is life! Todd will forever be the baby brother and his sisters will miss him dearly.

Todd was the uncle every child should have. He was the fun one, fearless and always ready to share adventures with his niece and nephews. They loved to laugh with him, and he always made them feel special. His passing leaves a hole in their hearts which can never be filled.

It cannot go without saying that Todd was a loving son to his devoted mother. Her untimely passing shook us all and he never truly healed from her loss. Todd loved her deeply and they shared a bond that was never severed. We have no doubt she was waiting on the other side with open arms, waiting to welcome him home. We can only imagine how wonderful he feels to be with her again.

Todd is survived by his husband, Whitney Fair of Carthage, Missouri; Rocko McFly, his African Grey Parrot who chose Todd as her mate for life; father, Isaac Twiddy (Janice) of Thibodeaux, Louisiana; mother-in-law, Karen Fair of Carthage, Missouri; sister Tammy Murphy (Wes) of Ariton, Alabama, sister Tonya Jiron (Ernest) of Mountain Home, Idaho; nephews Shane Jiron (Lacey) of Boise, Idaho, Michael Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brandon Smith of Slocomb, Alabama, Tyler Register (Michelle) of Enterprise, Alabama; niece Amanda Jiron Grodi (Brett) of Layton, Utah; aunts June Jacobson (Jake) of Joplin, Missouri, Margaret (Mickey) Fry (DJ) of Oronogo, Missouri, Linda Enlow of Neosho, Missouri, Beverly (Bev) Ray of Joplin, Missouri and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his beautiful mother Phyllis Ruth Isler (nee Hailey), Father-in-law Woodrow D. Fair, Aunt Faye and Uncle Kenneth Johnson, Aunt Belle and Uncle Bill Olmsted, Aunt Sharron and Uncle Jim Arnold, Uncle Bud and Aunt Margaret Hailey, and Uncle Manford Enlow.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow the service at Forest Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mason Woodard Mortuary and Crematory in Joplin, Missouri.

It was in Joplin that she was united in marriage to Bill Lee Boyd on May 12, 1955. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1999.

Bonnie was always about family. She is survived by son Richard Boyd of Oronogo, MO; daughter Sherri Critchfield and husband John Jr. of Stilwell KS; and brother Vernace Blood of Joplin. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Reverend Christian Boyd and wife Karen, Waukesha, WI; Karena Boyd, Ottawa, KS; Nathan Boyd and wife Chelle, Joplin; Jarrod Boyd and wife Erin, Neosho, MO; Ace Luke Pelham and fiancé Monica Ballay, Webb City, MO; Kandice Boyd, Springfield, MO; Jesse Boyd, Branson, MO; and Sandy Dillard and husband Michael Jr, Joplin. Great-grandchildren are Kameron Boyd, Caitlin Boyd, Patrick Boyd, Peyton Adamson, Riley Boyd, Liam Adamson, William Boyd, Login Boyd, Lexis Shontaé (Lexie) Boyd, Leshan Boyd and Zezra Dillard. Great-great-grandchildren are Marley Lee-Ann, Arabella LeeAnn, Deion Ezra Lee and Keyontae’ Lee Boyd.

Bonnie lived her early years in Wentworth on her maternal grandparents’ farm until moving to Joplin to start school. She had a lot of fond memories of living in the Smelter Hill neighborhood where she attended Eagle-Picher School and North Junior High School. She started her career in retail at an early age of fourteen, working for a local neighborhood market.

When Bonnie was only sixteen years old, she began attending Joplin Business College. Soon after, she began working for Sears on Main Street and helped them move to the Plaza Shopping Center. She briefly worked for May’s Drug, then went on to spend many years working for Newman’s Department Store. Again, she started while they were on Main Street, went through the move to Northpark Mall, and finally was one of the last two employees of Newman’s after they closed their doors. After retiring, she continued working on a volunteer basis, including Crosslines Ministries and the Salvation Army Store.

While family and work took a good deal of her time, Bonnie loved to keep busy and found time for a variety of interests. During both younger and older years, she enjoyed going to dances with friends. She enjoyed trying recipes, finding favorites to take to potluck dinners. Bonnie’s creative talents led her to joining with her husband and daughter to sell items they made at weekend craft shows, especially enjoying floral arranging and folk-art painting. Her creativity was also valuable when decorating the home, which, of course, frequently involved rearranging furniture. It was during the time the family lived in Spring City that her love for being outside and working in the yard and garden really began to take root, a love that lasted until her final days.

During her quieter times, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family, solving puzzles (especially crosswords), watching singing competition shows and a big one - playing dominoes with the girls. While she didn’t do a lot of reading, her time spent reading the Bible was dear to her, as was the time she spent involved with her church, Christ’s Community in Joplin.

Graveside services have been scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27. 2021 at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.

Beth grew up with her family in the Webb city area, she then raised her children there as well. She served people her entire life, she was kind, generous and always knew what to say at the right time. She had many titles as mother, sister, and friend but her favorite title of all was grandma.

Beth loved her grandkids more than life itself. Her best days were spent with all her kids and grandkids laughing and playing in her home. Those who knew her loved her and laughed with her, she enjoyed coloring with Aubrey, having Tuesday night dinners with Taysom and Harper, taking naps with Alexis, and spending her evenings with Hannah and Eli. She loved having her younger grandsons Zavin and Jax over to play.

Beth has been struggling with her health for years and has been home bound for a while but she continued to live her life for God even when she was unable to attend church, she enjoyed watching online and listening to worship music. She was a fervent prayer worrier just like her mother before her. There is nothing more she wanted than her family to know how much she loved them. She said on her last day she was awake that she had the perfect life.

Beth is with us today and every day, she is in the presence of the Lord and walking the streets of gold finally pain free.

Clairlee Hankins

(From Clark Funeral Home)

September 9, 1921 - May 24, 2021

~Tribute lovingly written by her daughter, Julia~

Clairlee Hankins was born at Black Fox Hollow in Little Kansas, Oklahoma, then moved to Depew, Oklahoma, then to Ingalls, Oklahoma where she attended grade school; then moved to Ripley, Oklahoma where she attended high school and graduated (her school bus driver had been one of President Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders).

In high school she was a cheerleader and played basketball-when she started playing basketball, the court was in three sections (forward/center/guard), her senior year it was changd to two sections, and she played half court as a guard.

She graduated in 1938 and married Ralph Hankins on January 21, 1939 and they left for Twin Falls, Idaho in a Chevrolet with a rumble seat! While living there, she had one daughter, Julia. After they moved back to Oklahoma, they lived in Ripley and then moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma where she had one son, Richard and lost one son, Tommy Joe at birth.

They lived in Ponca City until her husband retired from Continental Oil Company (they also farmed part-time while in Ponca City). They then moved to Missouri where they farmed full time in Eagle Rock, Wheaton, Miller, Buffalo, Blue Eye and Granby.

Her husband loved to trade farms and cars, he traded cars so often she would sometime forget what car she was driving when she went shopping!

After her husband passed away, she moved into town in Neosho and lived there until 2016 when she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Cedar Creek, Missouri.

Her life was a loving example as a devoted housewife and Mother and ALWAYS put her Savior and family first. After becoming a Christian in her early thirties, she started teaching Sunday school immediately as a primary boys teacher and continued teaching every year all different ages (her favorite was young people).

She taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, summer camps, Bible studies and anywhere she was needed. She even taught a Men's class, even though the men at first said the Bible says women aren't supposed to teach men and with God's help and lots of prayer, it worked out. After sixty plus years of being a faithful teacher, she stepped down, but continued being a Faithful Prayer Warrior!

Clairlee is survived by a daughter, Julia Rogers; a son, Richard Hankins; four granddaughters; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one great great granddaughter and a many, many friends.
