Lorene Olson

Lorene Olson entered into rest on May 29, 2021 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family, following a gradual decline in health at the age of 88. Lorene was born June 8, 1932 in Splitlog, Missouri, one of six children to Orville and Mae (Yocum) McIntire. 

Lorene lived most of her life in this area with the exception of twenty years living in Omaha, Nebraska before returning to Diamond.






 

 
She was a homemaker and was quiet, but very strong, her family was her mission field and she would do anything for any of them. She enjoyed taking care of others and canning with her twin sister, Maxine. Lorene was a member of the Calvary Nazarene Church in Joplin. 

Lorene and Emil Andrew Olson were married in a double ceremony with her twin sister, Maxine and John Dorsey on Oct. 26, 1957 in Splitlog. Emil preceded her in death on February 8, 1996. 

Lorene is survived by four children, Steve (Barb) Olson, Dennis (Shellie) Olson, Don (Tawnjia) Olson and Cynthia (Kevin) Martin all of Diamond; seven grandchildren, Samantha (Ben) Heydt, Nathan (Anna) Olson, Brenton Olson, Lauren Olson, Kalyn Martin, Eli Martin and Jessica Olson and fiance`, Keaton Trout; two great grandchildren, Michael and Elliot Heydt and one sister, Pauline (Vic) Tackett of Bartlesville, OK. 

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Maxine Dorsey and three brothers, Dale, Raymond and Everett McIntire.
