Bill Cooper

Bill Wayne Cooper, 90, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his residence with his loving wife by his side.

He began his journey on September 15, 1930 in Powell, Missouri, born to the late John and Lillie Mae (DeWitt) Cooper. He married the love of his life, Doris Akehurst on June 2, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. 








Bill owned and operated Cooper Construction Company in Beaumont, Texas for over 40 years. He and his wife retired to Grove, Oklahoma where he enjoyed fishing on the Grand Lake. He was a member of the Hickory Grove Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Bill dearly loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren and will always lovingly be remembered as a jokester.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy DeWayne Cooper; two sisters, Opal Blevins and Edna Jordan; granddaughter, Cheyenne Saulter.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Cooper of the home; two daughters, Brenda Dyer and husband, Al of Corsicana, Texas, Denise Yanez and husband, JR of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; a brother, Marion Cooper of Powell, Missouri; grandchildren, Jason Brandy, Shawnah, Patricia and Juston; several great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Bill.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Sean Hunt and Pastor Mel Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Roller Cemetery in Powell, Missouri. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
