(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Julia Nadine Knight, age 92, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on March 15th, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.
Julia was born on December 16th, 1931, in Frankfort, Indiana to her loving parents Gerald and Mary (Roth) Provins.
After graduating from Webb City High School in 1949, she studied nursing. She was employed by Merle Norman Cosmetics, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She also worked at Motor Electric which was owned by her husband.
Julia married the love of her life, William “Bill” Knight Sr., on July 31st, 1950, and they were happily married for 68 years.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Mary Provins; her husband Bill Knight; three brothers, Jerry, Waldo, and Calvin Provins; two grandchildren Jeremy Knight and Cody Strickland.
She is survived by one brother, Elvin Provins; one sister, Betty Ann Riggs; four children, William J. Knight Jr., Larry Knight and wife Connie, Alan Knight and wife Karen, Audrey Woodard and husband Mark, all of Joplin. Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Kyle S. Knight and wife Bonita, Kate Tupper and husband Josh, Heather Henson, Dustin Knight and wife Shannon, Kegan Strickland and husband Courtney; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date of their choosing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Royal Heights Elementary Lunch Fund or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
