Terry McDaniel

(From Daniel Funeral Home)

Terry Wayne McDaniel, age 58, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on November 22, 1965, in Lamar, Missouri, to Larry and the late Evelyn McDaniel, Terry's life was a testament to his faith, intelligence, and humor, qualities that endeared him to all who were lucky enough to cross his path.

He pursued a career that showcased his exceptional intellect. In 1996, he began his tenure at Southwest Research Institute, where he became known as a loyal and dependable employee, admired by his colleagues for his dedication and sharp wit.

His devotion extended beyond his professional life; Terry was a man of profound faith. He found great joy in worshipping and serving at Gateway Church, where he was a beloved member of the congregation. His commitment to his faith was unwavering, and it was this faith that guided him through life's trials and triumphs.

Those who knew Terry can attest to his remarkable sense of humor. His laughter was infectious, and he had an uncanny ability to lift the spirits of those around him. His quick wit and clever jokes were the heart of many gatherings, leaving lasting memories of joy and laughter in the hearts of his family and friends.

An avid dart player, Terry's competitive spirit and skill were well known in his community. He spent many an evening perfecting his aim, his love for the game was equaled only by the camaraderie and sportsmanship it fostered. But Terry's talents were not limited to the dartboard; he was also an extraordinary cook. His kitchen was a place of warmth and love, where he passed down his culinary skills to his beloved daughter, Marin, ensuring that his legacy would live on through the meals she would prepare.

Terry's passing leaves a void in the lives of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his daughter Marin (Cereza), his sister Jalene Force, and numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to know him. Though he is reunited in death with his father Larry, mother Evelyn, and nephews Bryar and Gideon, his daughter Marin and former spouse Lisa McDaniel, along with the Gateway Church Congregation, will miss his constant presence and the steadfast friendship and love he shared with them.

The words that best describe Terry—faith-filled, intelligent, funny—only scratch the surface of a man whose depth of character and capacity for love were boundless. He was a beacon of light and strength, a source of wisdom and laughter, and a true friend to all.

As we bid farewell to Terry Wayne McDaniel, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and grace. We honor the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the immeasurable impact he made on his community and beyond. Terry's legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, and his spirit will forever be cherished in the stories we share and the love we carry in our hearts.

As we mourn his passing, we also rejoice in having known such an extraordinary man, and we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through each act of kindness and moment of laughter he inspired.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Daniel Funeral Home with interment at Memory Gardens in Lamar, Missouri.
