Donna Eaton

Donna Jean Eaton, 84, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born on June 20, 1940, in Hannibal, Missouri to the union of Leonard and Mary (Mann) Lappin. For a period, she resided in Oklahoma later returning to Missouri making Carthage her home. She was united in marriage to George Henry Eaton on August 4, 1980, together they shared sixteen years of wonderful memories until his passing on September 14, 1996. Donna was a dedicated and loyal employee working for ConAgra Foods and later working at Sarcoxie Nursing Home. She loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, and attending to her flower gardens and chickens.








She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Henry Eaton; son, Dale Lappin; two brothers and one sister.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Fay Riley of Carthage; two step-daughters, Donna Taylor, of Joplin and Nita Hartman of Carthage; grandchildren, Johnnie Riley and wife, Mandy, Shaun Niblett and wife, Shannon, Ashley Tidwell and husband, Josh, Kendra Riley, Cari Brownell and husband, Randy and Bethany Patel and husband, Topher; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.







Funeral service for Donna will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie with Chaplin Daniel Powell officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Johnnie Riley, Shaun Niblett, Josh Tidwell, Christian Tidwell, Cody Riley and Anthony Bayless. Burial will follow at Iconium Cemetery in Osceola, Missouri. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.
