(From Midland Cremation Society)In Loving Memory of Sharon Lynne Hawman
August 18, 1942-April 29, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Hawman on April 29, 2025, in Lamar, Missouri.
Sharon had fought a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Sharon lived a full life growing up in the King City area, farming in that area for many years. She then moved to the Lock Springs area where she worked as the Postmaster for several years. Sharon’s journey took her to Colorado, Lake of the Ozarks and finally to Jefferson City where she retired from the Highway Patrol Academy. She was very proud of the service she provided during those years working in the grounds, housekeeping departments and as a cook in the cafeteria at the academy.
Sharon never knew a stranger, giving encouragement to those around her, sharing her love for gardening, cooking and traveling. She will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Beulah Gibson, brother Roger Gibson, sons Mark Hawman and Michael Hawman. She is survived by her sister Judy Gay (JD), daughter Susan Pittman (Travis), Grandchildren Andrew Pittman, Christopher Pittman (Lynzy), Haleih Pittman and great-granddaughter Scout Pittman. Many nieces, nephews and friends.
Please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
There will be a celebration of life held on May 18 from 1 to 3 pm at the fire station community room in Jamesport, MO.
