Ruby Maxine Rion

Born November 16th, 1942 to Roy Victor and Bonnie Lorene Hood (Gourley) in Joplin, MO. She passed away August 11th, 2025 after a battle with cancer.

Maxine married Stanley Earl Rion on August 9th, 1959 in Carl Junction, MO. They had four children together, Lonnie Earl Rion, wife Kelly, of Mound Valley, KS. Donnie Mearl Rion, wife Randi, of Carl Junction, MO. Terry Dean Rion, and Vicki Lorene Wiggs (Rion), husband Bryan, of Riverton, KS.

Maxine was a sister to Leroy Hood, Marie Walls, Louise Sweet, Harold Hood, Lonnie Hood, Elaine Burditt, and Rhonda Miller. She was the grandmother to nine grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Maxines favorite moments were spent fishing, mowing, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Christian Church of Crestline, KS.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

 

She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Dean Rion, her parents Roy and Lorene, and her siblings Leroy and Harold.

Graveside services will be Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Carl Junction Cemetery. Pastor Chris Richardson will officiate.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home, Baxter Chapel.
