(From Parker Mortuary)Darlene Fay Johnson, age 68, Joplin, Missouri, passed from this world into the presence of Jesus on Friday, November 28, 2025, at her home.
Darlene was born on June 23, 1957, in Joplin, Missouri, to George Lee Johnson and the late Marjory Frances (Senter) Johnson. She lived her entire life in Joplin, Missouri.
Darlene graduated from Parkwood High School in 1975 and from Missouri Southern State University in 1980.

After a few years in other tech support positions, she began a 33-year career as a technical support specialist at Empire District Electric Company. She was gifted at solving thorny computer issues, and both before and after her retirement, she was the go-to person for friends and family with computer issues.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, Marjory Johnson, and a niece, Molly Anderson.
Survivors include her father, George Johnson; her sister, Charlene Anderson; her brother, Paul Johnson, and wife Janet; nieces and nephews Katie Virden (Quen), Andrew Johnson (Rachel), Amy Johnson, and Barry Anderson; and grand nieces and nephews Milo, Sadie, Riyo, Lucille, and Kida.
Darlene enjoyed gathering with her extended family for family meals and playing games. She was very generous to her nieces and nephews. In her younger days, she went on several adventures: bicycling on the east coast, vacationing in Corpus Christi, and scuba diving in Honduras. She was a car enthusiast and still had her first car, a 1960 Valiant.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary. The family invites friends out for a time of visitation prior to service at 10:30 a.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, MO.
