Harold L. Lankford, 88, Carthage, MO, passed away Tuesday evening, September 6, 2016 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. Harold Lee Lankford was born July 25, 1928 in Joplin, MO to the late Floyd Lankford and Eula Mae (Brixey) Lankford. He was a graduate of Joplin High School, Class of 1946. Harold married Aletha Cushman on March 20, 1971 in Springfield, MO; she survives. He served in U.S. Army from 1950-1952, during the Korean War. He worked as a salesman for Carthage Printing Services.Harold was also a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, Carthage.
Survivors include his wife, Aletha Lankford, Carthage; two daughters, Karen Blair, Osage Beach, MO, and Pamela Campbell, Englewood, CO; two sons, Gary Lankford, Carl Junction, MO, and Mike Haas, Joplin, MO; and one sister, Hazel George, Orlando Beach, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2016 in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Bob Morgan will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. Memorial gifts can be made to Crossroads Baptist Church, and sent to Knell Mortuary, 308 W.
