Sally Loyd, age 72, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday August 1, 2017, at her home.
Sally was born on December 6, 1944, in Joplin, the daughter of the late Helen (Mayo) Moorehead. She has lived in the Joplin area most of her life. She married Johnny Loyd on July 16, 1961, together they raised two children.
She began her career working at Redings Mill Salad and then at Morton Booth and finally retiring from S & S Machine in 2006. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved unconditionally. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an excellent gardener.
She is survived by her son, Shawn Loyd and his wife Michelle of Granby, Mo.; a daughter, Tammie Heman and her husband Mark of Carthage, Mo.; four grandchildren, Shene Loyd, Jared Heman, Sydney King and Dalton King; one great-grandchild, Keaton Welch; a brother, Bill Moorehead of Joplin, Mo.; a sister Norma English and her husband Tony of Joplin, Mo. Sally was preceded in death by her husband Johnny in 2011; two daughters, Claudia Marie Loyd and Sherri Kay Loyd; her mother Helen; a brother Corky Moorehead; and two sisters, Pat Shelby and Gay Elaine Harding; and a grandson Colin Alexander Heman.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel. Joey Wald will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Eric Reinhart, Darren Brewer, Larry Eden, Chris Eden, George Campbell, and Jared Heman.
The visitation will be 4-5 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
