Donnie Lee Johnston, age 62 of Waco, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, surrounded by his family. Donnie was born November 7, 1955 in Joplin, to the late Edferd Lee Johnston and Shirley Ann Beardon. Donnie enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as riding his motorcycle. The most important part of his life was his wife and family. Donnie worked for Cardinal Scale as a welder for 13 years, prior to retiring due to health.
On August 26, 1977, he married Brenda Kay Brodie in Miami, Oklahoma. Brenda survives of the home.
Additional survivors include their sons, Jason Lee Johnston and wife, Kristi of Joplin, and Chad Michael Johnston of Joplin; granddaughters, Bailey and Lanni Johnston; brother, Ronnie Johnston and wife, Laura of Webb City; aunt, Vera Johnston of Joplin.
A visitation is planned for Monday, May 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. After the visitation, Donnie will be cremated per his wishes.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
