(From Parker Mortuary)Katherine Ann Sparlin, age 65, Joplin, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Katherine was born October 23, 1955 in Joplin, daughter of the late Vern Boyd and Dixie West Boyd Carter of Joplin. She grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School in 1972.
She worked for over 30 years at the Butterball Plant in Carthage in the office and as a dispatcher before retiring. She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Sparlin; daughters, Jennifer Henning and husband Carl, and Kristi Payton and husband Dwight all of Joplin; grandchildren, Cory Myers, Trace Myers, Ali Sparlin, and Mykel Sparlin; three great-grandchildren; mother, Dixie Boyd Carter of Joplin; brother, Charlie Boyd and wife Paula of Carthage; sister, Peggy Reynolds and husband Jim of Carl Junction; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Friday, November 20, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Carl Junction Cemetery with Pastor Dan Mullins officiating.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
