Carl Houck

Carl Houck Jr. of Carthage, MO passed away at 8:06 AM on January 29th at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO. Carl was born to Carl Elbert Sr. and Clara Houck on December 10, 1952 in Joplin, MO. 

He was a longtime Carthage area resident working at Schreiber's for 49 years in the transportation department as the Shuttle Coordinator. He was a former member and current president of the Center Creek Golf Course. 

He coached youth baseball for over 20 years. He was a member of the Carthage Bowling Association Hall of Fame, bowling for 37 consecutive years in the National Bowling Tournament. He was also a member of the Joplin Bowling Association, serving as the League Secretary. He was well known for bowling four perfect games of 300!








Carl was married to Linda Conway on April 8, 1982 in Carthage; she survives. He is also survived by one son, Jeff Houck and his wife Angela in Manchester, TN; one daughter, Jill Keplar and her husband George in Neosho, MO.

Carl is also survived by his mother, Clara Houck of Carthage; two sisters, Carolyn Conway and her husband Dale of Sarcoxie, MO and Cathy Patrick and her husband Randy also of Sarcoxie; three grandchildren, Kinsli Houck, Clara Keplar and Wyatt Keplar.

Carl is proceeded in death by his father, Carl Houck Senior.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM February 2nd at Ulmer Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on February 3rd at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, MO.
