Joan Hanson

Joan Louise Hanson 83 of Republic, MO passed away peacefully with her husband and son Michael by her side on February 4th, 2021 from complications with Covid and pneumonia.

She was born on April 8, 1937 and raised in South Fork, PA to Joseph “Fuzzy” and Margaret Schrader.

Joan is survived by her husband of 17 years, Darrell Hanson, her children, Brian (Chrissy) Klanchar of Springfield, Kimberly Wobermin of Arvada, CO, Donna Klanchar of Lakewood, CO, and Michael (Leslie) Klanchar of Benton, AR, Patti (Brad) Bodenhamer of Drexal, MO, Teresa (Chuck) Fasone of Springfield, MO and Tim Hanson of Springfield, MO. Grandchildren, Alex (Karley) Klanchar, Mariah Klanchar, Gary (Desiree) Chilton, John Michael Klanchar, Tamara Wobermin, Greg Wobermin and Julie Wobermin, sister Donna (Wayne) Callahan, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.








Joan retired from Walmart in Joplin, MO and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Springfield, MO. She was an active member of the Leo Group and Faith Walking Sunday School class. Joan spent many days as part of the Hospitality Team greeting at the front door of the church and at the information desk for Sunday services. She and her husband enjoyed attending special outings with their church family and going to Oldfield Opry for country and gospel music and fellowship with friends.

Joan will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a heart for Christ and her family. She loved deep and had a smile just as big as her heart. Her family is comforted knowing that today she saw the face of Jesus and will all be reunited in heaven one day.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Springfield, MO.
In leu of flowers memorials are requested to go to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 922 W. Republic Rd. Springfield, MO 65807, for the York Elementary School Fund.
