Nettie Rodriguez

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Nettie Lee (Herrin) Rodriguez, age 84, a life-long resident of Neosho, Missouri, died January 30, 2021, after struggling with dementia for several years. She passed surrounded by her children and faithful dog, Angel.

Mom anticipated going home to be with God, and this is what she wanted us to tell you, 'Nettie Herrin Rodriguez loved God, loved her family. She lived a wonderful life and now she's gone.'

Nettie was born in Neosho on July 17, 1936, to Ethan Allen and Rebecca Jane (Jackson) Herrin. She graduated from Neosho High School in 1953 and Draughon School of Business in 1954.

On June 11, 1955, she married Rafael (Rod) Rodriguez who preceded her in death on July 27, 2007. Together they had nine children. Nettie was a homemaker and enjoyed reading. She worked as a nurse's assistant at Freeman Neosho and volunteered at Crossline Ministries. Nettie was very giving of herself and her time to those in need; she welcomed all who came to her home. To know her was to love her. She was a member of St. Canera Catholic Church.

Nettie is survived by her nine children: Dr. Rafael 'Rick' (Carla) of Jerome, ID; Cris (Donna) of Nevada, MO; Elizabeth Walker of Melbourne, FL; Daniel (Pam) of Neosho; Tony (Tammy) of Neosho; Robert (Gina) of Neosho; Anna Moore (Steve) of Joplin, MO; Angela Duncan (Elmer) of Neosho and Michele Ramsey (Stephen) of Neosho. Twenty-four grandchildren: Emma Hinds, Elena Rodriguez, John Walker, II, Jeffery Walker, Jessica Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, Adam Rodriguez, Kenny Rodriguez, Katy Rodriguez, Kallie Rodriguez, Laura Burch, Michael Brown, Nate Rodriguez, Jon Rodriguez, Logan Moore, Evan Moore, Aaron Moore, Emma Moore, Madison Duncan, Michael Duncan, Max Duncan, Marcus Duncan, Melissa Womack and Camp Ramsey and twenty-three great grandchildren and more on the way. Two sisters, Rebecca Hall and Marian Coffman and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

Nettie was preceded by her husband, Rafael Rodriguez; parents, Ethan and Rebecca Herrin; brother-in-law, Phil Moomaw, Ron Coffman, Adolf (Fito) Rodriguez; and sister-in-law, Herminia (Rodriguez) Resendez.

Nettie had chosen to donate her body for medical research.
