Margaret Herne

Margaret Eloise Herne, 76, of Joplin, passed away July 7, 2021 in the comfort of her home.

Margaret was born July 18, 1944 in Ithaca, New York, the youngest of six children born to Donald and Anieta (Vrooman) Rogers. She graduated from Ithaca High School. 

 Margaret married Kevin Herne on May 12, 1969 and together they had two daughters, Azura and Bree.

 

Margaret loved playing Bingo and she was an avid reader. She also enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers. Margaret was a true force – always strong-willed and independent. She worked as a homemaker during her lifetime, raising her two girls and taking care of the home. She taught her daughters many important things they will carry through their lifetime and she will always be missed.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kevin, in 2014; and all of her siblings.

She is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Azura Herne and husband, Paul Huggins, of Joplin, and Bree Herne of Boston, Massachusetts; a special extended family member and friend, William Huggins; and her beloved cat, Squirt.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
