Fred Conklin

Frederick “Fred” Conklin, Jr., passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the age of 65.

Fred was born September 18, 1956 in Suffern, New York, to the late Frederick Conklin Sr. and Katherine (Gannon) Conklin. Fred had lived in the Joplin area for many years. Throughout the years Fred had worked for FAG, IBM, Conagra, Southwest sod and seed, as a truckdriver for Midwest Materials and also as a self-employed landscaper.

Fred was united in marriage to Christina Bernings on April 27, 1991 in Joplin, Missouri.

Fred was able to fix anything. He enjoyed working on cars and projects in and around his home. He loved to be outdoors, whether it was fishing, enjoying the lake or boating. He took great pride in his landscaping craft and tending to his numerous varieties of plants. Fred enjoyed the time spent and memories created with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brother Ardie and sister Helen.

Fred is lovingly survived by his wife, Christina; daughters, Alisha Conklin Patton and Brandi Bernings; grandchildren, Makinzie, Aubrey, Max, Sabra and Trixie; great grandson, Owen; sisters Kathleen A. Mann and Florence Conklin; brother, Kenny Conklin; together with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
