Gary Pigg

Gary Lee Pigg, age 78, Joplin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at his home.

Gary was born July 4, 1943 in Joplin, son of the late John Leroy Pigg and Betty (Shaffer) Pigg. 

 He graduated from Parkwood High School in 1961, and married Linda C. Ferguson on June 1, 1962 in Joplin. He worked for over 38 years with Astro Instrument in Joplin as their general manager. He was a devoted Christian man who was currently attending Faith Assembly in Joplin. He enjoyed spending time with family.








In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Linda Pigg, who passed away on September 26, 2013, and a brother, John Pigg.

He is survived by his daughter, Shawna Lynn McDaniel and husband Bob; his son, Jeffery D. Pigg both of Joplin; six grandchildren, Holly Ball (Kenneth) of Joplin, Dustin McDaniel (Kassie) of Kansas City, Missouri, Andrew McDaniel of Joplin, Amber Pigg of Niagara Falls, New York, Brittany Pigg of Lockport, New York, Charessa Pigg of North Liberty, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson Dodson, Tucker Dodson, Mason Ball, Mackenzie Ball all of Joplin, Dalton McDaniel and Blayke McDaniel both of Kansas City, Emery McDaniel of Joplin, and Peyson McDaniel of Webb City, Missouri; brother, Michael Tudor; sisters, Karen McGinthia, and Patricia Musgrove; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Faith Assembly. Pastor Grant Curtis and brother-in-law Walter Crowder officiating.

The family will receive friends at Faith Assembly from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the service.

Private family graveside remembrance in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Faith Assembly.
