(From Lawson's Funeral Home)Michael Ray Burr, 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was born on December 18, 1954 in Claremore, OK to his parents, Aaron Raymond Burr and Imogene Fern Tanner-Burr-Drake.
Michael attended Jay High School, Jay, OK. He worked at Wal-Mart Automotive in Grove, OK for 20 years. Michael loved to hunt and fish. He loved fishing with his grandkids. Michael loved his family very much and loved spending time with them all. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone he could.
Since Michael and Cathy’s retirement they have gone everywhere together. They loved being together. He is loved very much and will be missed dearly by many.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Aaron Raymond Burr; mother, Imogene Fern Burr-Drake; sister, Allison Louise Hailey and his precious son, Michael Carl Burr.
Michael is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cathy Burr of Jay, OK; his daughters, Roxanne Cleveland and husband Robert of Jay, OK and Imogene Burr of Jay, OK; Grandkids, Riley Cleveland and Lucas King of Jay, OK; Siblings, JoElla Marion of Yukon, OK, Clifton Burr of Neosho, MO and Aaron Burr; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Michael’s family visitation to greet friends will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346.
Michael’s Celebration Of Life Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00am, Jay First Assembly Of God Church, 908 N. Main St., Jay, OK. Michael’s burial will follow to Duffield Cemetery, Jay, OK. Burial will be at Duffield Cemetery, Jay, OK.
