Billie Snip

(From Daniel Funeral Home)

Billie Jean Snip, age 71, of Golden City, Missouri passed away on March 3, 2023, at Cox Barton County Hospital. She is now at home, forever celebrating in Heaven, with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Billie was born November 5, 1951, in Lamar, Missouri, to Eugene Gardner Snip and Reba Lee (Stansberry) Snip. She was a member of the Golden City Christian Church. Billie was also an active member of the Morris Grove Coop 4-H, The Lamar Saddle Club, and a charter member of the Rough Riders 4-H Club. She was awarded Rodeo Queen in 1966, and was chosen to be the inaugural Princess of the Lamar (Barton County) Fair in 1967.

Billie graduated from Golden City High School in 1969 with honors, and named the Salutatorian of her class. She then married Gerald Max Norman. They owned and operated Scooter's Pizza in Joplin, Missouri, and Webb City, Missouri. They were also considered pioneers of "pizza delivery", serving delicious pizza and sandwiches for many years.

In 1984, Billie and Max moved back to Golden City, where she was raised, and built a new home on the family farm, in order to pursue her passion of raising horses with her Dad. Billie continued to raise and show Quarter Horses after her dad's death. She reached many levels of success in the horse business, by producing many award winners throughout her career. She loved her horses, and devoted much of her life to their care. Billie also worked as a receptionist in the ER at Cox Barton County Hospital for 20 years, up to her passing. As a true disciple, Billie shared her faith in Christ, and deep love for the Lord, with everyone in her daily life.

Survivors include her son, Scott Norman; grandchildren, Gregory, Gage and Julia of Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Cinda and Gail Miller of Lamar, MO., and Marcia and Burly Jenkins of Ash Grove, Missouri; as well as four nephews, one niece and extended family members.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2023, at Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to the Roca Blanca Missions or Compassion International in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
